Illuminating cancer: decoding cytokine landscapes with multiplex technology
Join us at xMAP Connect 2024 in Houston on October 30, where you can discover how Invitrogen™ ProcartaPlex™ multiplex assays and immune response panels may facilitate a deeper understanding in oncology research and immuno-monitoring. Our distinguished speakers from ORION Core, MD Anderson Cancer Center: Cara Haymaker, PhD, Director, and Heather Otte, MS, Sr. Research Assistant will share how they were able to gain actionable insights from their precious samples using ProcartaPlex assays.
ProcartaPlex multiplex assays provide a comprehensive range of panels to study inflammation and cytokine profile and allow simultaneously measurement of up to 80 soluble immune biomarkers in a single sample.
ProcartaPlex assay crucial for unraveling LNP reactogenicity mechanisms
A recent study investigating the reactogenicity of mRNA therapeutics encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) utilized the Invitrogen™ ProcartaPlex™ Mouse Cytokine & Chemokine Convenience Panel 1A, 36plex (Cat.No. EPXR360-26092-901) to measure inflammatory factors in mouse serum.
Study highlights:
TLR4 Activation: Findings revealed that ionizable lipids in LNPs activate TLR4 signaling, leading to notable pro-inflammatory responses and sickness behavior in mice.
TLR4 inhibitor TAK-242 effectively reduced these inflammatory responses.
The use of ProcartaPlex assays enabled researchers to uncover the role of the TLR4-MyD88 axis in LNP-induced reactogenicity, providing insights that may contribute to developing safer mRNA therapeutics. Additionally, integrating the Invitrogen™ QuantiGene™ Plex assay for gene expression analysis could have provided further valuable data to complement the findings.
